Rescently, after selling the dwarves, the "Pipehobot" crew decided to start a new roject- 8 ed goblin army.
What's about 8 ed? The main idea are huge blocks. And goblin army is something that allows you make the blocks really huge and numerous at a low cost. Actually, goblins are the cheapest horde-race.
Another important fact- goblins can spam heroes. But we'll talk later on that.
So the last fact is the new rules for monstrous infantry. If most people use to play with 3-strong single rank of monsters before, now the monstrous infantry blocks start to grow dramatically.
With havin few BFSP trolls at hand, we started with them (while we are waiting for the caches of goblins to arrive by mail).
Everybody know this guy.
Somehow, I hardly remember anyone, who really likes the model. Personally I think it is on of the best starter set model ever but well.. I'm in a minority. That fact allowed me to get few of them for my beastmen army. But with the new edition, Chaos trolls are gone from the BM rulebook, so they stayed in my drawer for some time. Actually I used one as a unit filler for a BM Gors block, but there are still few left. And now they are going to complement... and to start an upcoming NG army.
Of course, a block of those similar looking-guys won't look good, that's why I started to convert them. And here are the results of mixing trolls with OG Bulls bits and greenstuff.
This guy is a result of relativly simple conversion. A slight reposition of his arms and giving him a club. Looks trolly? I think so.
This one is a bit more comblex. Especially because of the ripped dwarven body in a troll's palm. I doesn't look finished at all, but it is a lot to do with a paintjob here.
Same goes with trolls' faces- the slight conversion won't change more than a different paitjob, So I'll stick to that. One troll is going to get dark skin with light-coloured belly and face, another one will get only his belly light-coloured and face will remain dark, with a glowing eyes.
